หัวช้าง
โรงแรม หัวช้างเฮอริเทจ เป็นอาคารตั้งอยู่ริมสระน้ำ ด้านหน้าของโรมแรม เจ้าของต้องการทำเป็นพูลบาร์ (Pool bar)
ขนาดประมาณ 6*6เมตร เพื่อให้เข้ากับชื่อของสถานที่ คือ หัวช้าง เจ้าของจึงอยากให้เป็นโครงสร้างคล้ายๆกับกูบช้าง ที่นั่งบนหลังช้าง ซึ่งเมื่อย้อนหลังไปเป็นสิบปีที่แล้ว ในช่วงปี ค.ศ 2012 นั้นรูปแบบการทำโดมโค้ง
ด้วยไม้ไผ่ยังไม่ใครทำมาก่อน โจทย์ที่ยากคือ ต้องคานไขว้ เพื่อรับรูปโค้งให้ได้ เราต้องคิดการทำโครงสร้างให้เหมาะสมรับน้ำหนักไห้ได้กันอยู่นาน ซึ่งหากใช้เหล็กทำก็จะไม่ยากเลยสามารถดัดได้เข้ารูปได้ทันที แต่นี่คือไม้ไผ่ และเราไม่เคยคิดใช้เหล็กมาช่วยเลยแม้แต่น้อย
นี่คือการคิดทำโครงแบบก้างปลา (fish bone truss) ครั้งแรกของเรา โดยที่ไม่เคยเห็นที่ใดมาก่อน และอาคารหัวช้างนี้จึงเป็นอาคารแรกของประเทศไทยที่ใช้ ระบบการถัก คานโค้งเพื่อรับน้ำหนัก ซึ่งเป็นการค้นพบของThailand bamboo อีกผลงานที่สำคัญมาก และภูมิใจมาก
Huachang
It is a pool bar building located in front of the hotel. It measures about 6*6 meters to match the name of the place, namely elephant’s head ( Hua Chang). So I wanted it to be a similar structure. With an elephant riding seat, seated on the back of an elephant. (Goop chang). Which goes back to ten years ago. During 2012 It forms a curved dome with bamboo, no one has done it before. The difficult problem is to cross the beam to get the curved shape. We have to think about doing the structure properly and longtime usage. If you use steel to do it, it will not be difficult to bend it into shape immediately. But this is bamboo. And we never even thought of using steel to help.
And this is our first bamboo fish bone truss.
